Introducing Water Plus
Severn Trent and United Utilities are joining forces to form a new, enhanced water retail company specifically for our business customers - the new company will be called Water Plus.
Water Plus will bring together the best of both companies to provide excellent customer service, great value and new service offerings. It will provide billing, meter readings, account management, water efficiency advice and more for businesses right across the country.
How does this affect business customers?
There will be no change to your water supply or waste water treatment services. These will continue to be provided by Severn Trent so you can be sure of the same quality and reliability of supply. Also, there will be no changes to the prices you’re being charged as a result of the formation of Water Plus.
What will happen next?
We’re working hard to create our new company including introducing new systems and tools to make sure that dealing with Water Plus is effortless. During this year you’ll continue to see the Severn Trent branding and we will move to the Water Plus brand early in 2017.
What does the upcoming competition in the business water retail market mean?
In April 2017 all businesses in England will be able to select their water and wastewater retailer – similar to how you can decide on your retailer for energy and telecoms. This is already in place in Scotland, where there has been an open market since 2008. This change in the market does not apply to households.
What do I need to do?
There is no need for customers to do anything at this point. We will be writing to all our customers in January 2017, to let you know how we are getting ready for the market opening in April 2017. We’ll keep this page up to date with the latest news and answers to the most frequently asked questions.
